SJ Cutaway. User Reviews 5 stars out of 5
I have been playing guitar for 30 years. I would surely replace this Charis if it were to be stolen or damaged. I love everthing about this guitar it is incredible, I just have a strong desire for a Cedar/Rosewood GC non-cutaway as an addition to this guitar. I looked at all other brands before I chose Charis, there was just something about Bill Wise, his talent as a builder and his personality and faith. This is a World Class Product, in the same league as an Olson or Ryan. Click to read more user reviews

Christian Musician Magazine Product Review, Volume 8, Issue 3, May/June 2003, pg. 6
"The warmth and resonance of the guitar told the story. The lightly braced cedar top is cut to the perfect thickness to be responsive and clear and full, the sound seemingly hanging in the air resonating. The tone had the "wow" factor. I was impressed with the Grand Concert's balance, the craftsmanship, the components, the tone and the guitar's playability. The fret board felt great and played true. The five-piece neck feels strong under your fingertips. The whole presentation was just what I had hoped for...this is one beautifully crafted instrument."

"When we opened the case of the SJ model, it would be an understatement to say it made a strong first impression. Or a second. Or a third. We couldn't stop playing it. If there is such a thing as an "it" factor for guitars, this one has it in spades."

"The primary guitar I play today is a Charis Acoustic, built by Bill Wise. It's a Small Jumbo with Indian rosewood back and sides and a cedar top. I have a thing for cedar-I really love its warmth......it's rich without being high-toned, and warm without being muddy. It's in the right pocket-wonderful tone, great sustain, and powerful volume. I really enjoy playing this guitar."

"Instruments by guitar maker Bill Wise of Charis Acoustic have been showing up in impressive hands of late, but they really got our attention when the likes of P.O.D.'s Jason Truby, Michael Card, and Phil Keaggy began taking them on the road and using them in the studio........"

"I used Charis guitars on six tracks of the new "Acoustic Sketches" album......The Charis is a great guitar. It has a nice sound."
